A breakfast-brunch-lunch restaurant holding the distinctions of being hailed as one of SAVEUR Magazine’s Top 100 Inspiring Places and Things to Eat (Jan/Feb 2013) and rated as one of Urban Spoon’s Top Breakfast Restaurants in the country (2013), is located in downtown Lafayette, LA - the heart of Cajun country.

The restaurant serves inventive versions of traditional Cajun and American cuisine with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and rich flavors. Owner and Executive Chef Justin Girouard puts his own forward-thinking spin on each dish, resulting in food that is both modern and comforting.

Drawing inspiration from his Cajun heritage and French training, Chef Girouard puts his own distinctive spin on classic dishes. The result is a menu chock full of satisfying dishes with bright, bold flavors that appeal to adventurous and conservative diners alike.

The French Press restaurant knows that a great meal isn’t just about the food, but about creating a memorable and unique experience. Our staff is professional, attentive, and experienced and treats every guest like part of the family.

Each member of our staff is well acquainted with our menu, and able to assist our guests in choosing a dish that is sure to satisfy them.

The Bar

We pride ourselves on a bar program that rivals the quality of the food coming from the kitchen. Our cocktail list, while maintaining many brunch staples, has been mindfully created to pair well with our unique brunch cuisine.

We maintain a full bar, stocked with local beers and small-batch wines, which like our cocktails, are ever-changing in order to keep pace with varying seasons and trends du jour.

Catering

The French Press is available for all of your event needs. No party is too small or too big. For in-house catering, our side room can be rented out for smaller private events seating up to 40 people, but able to accommodate up to 70 for cocktail party-style events.

The main dining room is also available most evenings. The French Press has provided intimate dining space for bridal luncheons, business dinners, and birthday parties. We are also available for off-site catering in your home or one of South Louisiana’s many beautiful venues.
